Bowing to tradition, this sake set was wood-fired for 22 hours while wind and rain whipped the intrepid group stoking the kiln. The resulting glaze is a wonderful blue with white crystals. Another effect of the wood firing is flashing that turned the white, unglazed clay at the base a warm tan. Isn't mud delightful?
