Kappa are impish water sprites in Japanese folklore.
This saki vessel was thrown on a potter's wheel then manipulated to form the Kappa.
It has a turtle shell on it's back, reptilian texture on it's arms, legs, and on the little cups. It has a hole in the top of it's hairy head to add the saki, and pours through the beak.
